According to the Reverend Monsignor James C. Prior to being named Archbishop of Galveston-Houston, in 2006, Cardinal DiNardo was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Pittsburgh in July 1977 and has served as parish pastor, seminary professor, spiritual director, and in the chancery. He then went on to work in Rome as a staff member for the Congregation for Bishops, as director of Villa Stritch (the house for American clergy), and as adjunct professor at the Pontifical North American College. In June 2006, he received the pallium from Pope Benedict XVI and was elevated to the College of Cardinals the following year at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. In 2013 he was elected by his brother bishops as the Vice-President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). ”His good works are being recognized with our 2016 Award of Excellence as a Religious Leader.”
“We are equally proud to honor Roma Downey and Mark Burnett with the Broadcast Media Award. In December 2015, Mark was named President of MGM Television and Digital Group.
